“Kenzie has been such an innovator in my life. When I first came to Los Angeles as a kid, she was one of the first contemporary classes I ever took from. In that space, I found an acceptance, freedom, and creativity that I had not experienced before. She had created a space that not only fostered growth in the arts but in the building of community for artists. From that initial class, I have watched her passion grow from a company, to a convention, to international programs, and to eventually forming Genesis Studios. About eight years later, I am blessed by her and her studio not only as a student and dancer but as a teacher and choreographer. Never had I thought this is where I would be today. My life would have been so drastically different if I had never experienced the light that Kenzie shared and continues to share everyone she meets.
